April Meeting of The Potter County Democrats has been canceled we will be at the Central Grange's Meet the Candidates
The PA Primary Election is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17th and the Central Grange #1216 has invited all of our county and local candidates to join us for a Meet the Candidates Night at 6PM at the Central Grange Hall in Sweden Valley on Thursday, April 14th!
You will have an opportunity to hear from both Democrate and Republican candidates running for the following positions:
- Potter County Commissioner
- Magisterial District Judge
- Potter County Prothonitary
- Potter County Sherif

Corbett's Budget is a Direct Assault on the Middle Class
On March 8th Tom Corbett released his first budget, which will hurt the middle class in a variety of ways - from potential property tax increases to tuition hikes. Corbett's budget cuts K-12 funding by about $550 million and higher education funding by more than $600 million. These cuts will likely result in higher property taxes and tuition hikes for Pennsylvania's students. Education cuts will also compromise Pennsylvania's ability to train and educate students for jobs in the Commonwealth. >> READ MORE

Wednesday, March 16, 2011 - Yesterday, Judy Schwank, from Berks County, defeated her Republican opponent and kept the 11th Senate District in the Democratic column. Judy's victory was the culmination of hard work from her campaign and Democrats in her community.
